Why does my cherry cobbler turn out chewy?

My cherry cobbler always ends up chewy, and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else had this problem? What might I be doing wrong? Any advice on how to get that perfect consistency would be amazing. Thanks in advance! 🍒🧑‍🍳
 
I've encountered this multiple times before, and the reasons vary every time. 🍒 One time it's because I overmixed the batter, and another time I added too much flour. 😅 So, avoid doing these to not get chewy cherry cobbler. ☺️
