Ingredients:
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-2 Ternate flowers (also known as butterfly pea flower)
  • Salt (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Rinse the Ternate flowers under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
  2. In a pot, add the rice and water.
  3. Add the rinsed Ternate flowers to the pot with the rice and water.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  5. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
  6. Let the rice simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  7. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for a few minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and remove the Ternate flowers.
  9. Season with salt if desired.
  10. Serve the blue-colored rice as a visually striking and flavorful dish. Enjoy!
