Let's Have Some Chips! Here's how

Ingredients:​

  • 1 cup arrowroot starch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:​

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the arrowroot starch and water. Mix well until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Place the dough on a flat surface lined with parchment paper or plastic wrap. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough into a thin, even sheet.
  3. Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the rolled-out dough into small squares or desired shapes.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  5. Carefully add the cut dough pieces to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the fryer or pot.
  6. Fry the araro chips for 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  7. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the fried chips from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Sprinkle the hot chips with salt to taste while they're still warm.
  9. Repeat the frying process with the remaining dough until all the chips are cooked.
  10. Allow the araro chips to cool completely before serving.
