  • 2 lbs fresh broccoli

  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon salt

Directions​

  1. Prepare the Broccoli
    • Trim and discard the tough ends of the broccoli stalks. Wash the broccoli thoroughly. Cut the broccoli into florets and set aside. Cut the stalks into 1/2-inch pieces and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, sugar, and salt. Add the vegetable broth and soy sauce, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Set aside.
  3. Cooking
    • Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until lightly browned and aromatic.
  4. Stir-Fry
    • Add the broccoli florets and stalk pieces to the wok or skillet. Stir-fry for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to coat the broccoli with the oil and garlic.
  5. Steam
    • Cover the wok or skillet with a lid and steam the broccoli for an additional 2 minutes. This helps to soften the broccoli slightly.
  6. Add Sauce
    • Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the broccoli in the wok or skillet. Stir constantly to coat the broccoli evenly with the sauce.
  7. Finish
