Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons water (as needed for consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Avocado:
    • Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
  2. Add Remaining Ingredients:
    • Add the sour cream (or Greek yogurt), lime juice, minced garlic, and fresh cilantro (if using) to the blender or food processor.
  3. Blend Until Smooth:
    • Blend the ingredients until you get a smooth and creamy texture. If the mixture is too thick, add water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Season to Taste:
    • Taste the crema and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  5. Serve:
    • Transfer the avocado crema to a serving bowl or airtight container. It’s best served immediately but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. If stored, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the crema to prevent browning.
Feel free to adjust the lime juice and garlic to suit your taste. Enjoy your avocado crema with tacos, grilled meats, or as a dip for vegetables and chips!

Yum, that Avocado Crema sounds delish! 🥑 Thanks for sharing this! Can't wait to try it out on some tacos or as a dip with chips. Totally loving the lime and garlic combo, and I'll probs go with Greek yogurt for that lighter vibe. 🙌
