Hey everyone, I want to introduce you to a comforting classic: homemade beef bone broth! ๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿ„ It's rich, flavorful, and perfect for sipping or as a base for soups and stews. Let's dive into making this nourishing broth together!

  • 2-3 pounds of beef bones (preferably with marrow)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water
Instructions:
  1. Roast the Bones: Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Place the beef bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes until browned.
  2. Prepare the Broth: Transfer the roasted bones to a large pot. Add the onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, and apple cider vinegar. Fill the pot with enough water to cover the bones.
  3. Simmer: Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface. Simmer for 12-24 hours for the best flavor and nutrients.
  4. Strain: After simmering, strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve into another pot or large bowl. Discard the solids.
  5. Season: Add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Store: Let the broth cool. Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for later use.
