Guess what I cooked up last night? Beef rolls Cordon Bleu! I threw together some ground beef, onion, eggs, and rolled oats, then layered it with ham, cheese, and a few secret ingredients. Baked it up real nice and served it with a creamy mushroom gravy. Mouthwatering, I tell ya!
INGREDIENTS
UNITS: US
1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
2 eggs
1 small onion
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package onion soup mix, dry
1⁄2 cup rolled oats (can be blended in a blender for finer crumbs)
8 slices ham or 8 slices bacon
8 slices mozzarella cheese
2 eggs
breadcrumbs
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons flour
DIRECTION
Combine the first 5 ingredients.
Shape into 8 thin patties.
Layer each patty with ham or bacon and cheese.
Seal edges. Beat 2 eggs.
Coat patties in egg, then breadcrumbs.
Arrange in a casserole dish. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
Make gravy using milk, flour, and soup. Pour over patties. Bake until bubbly.
Optional: Bake patties without gravy, cool, then freeze. Defrost and add sauce before baking for 1 hour. Alternatively, bake from frozen for 1 hour, then top with sauce and bake for another hour.
