I wanted to share my go-to salsa recipe that I make for every gathering. It’s super fresh, zesty, and always a hit. Here’s how I do it:
Ingredients:
- 6 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 2 limes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp cumin (optional, but adds a nice depth)
- A pinch of sugar (optional, to balance the acidity)
- Prep the Ingredients:
- Dice the tomatoes and place them in a large bowl.
- Finely chop the red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro. Add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- Mince the garlic and add it to the mix.
- Mix It All Together:
- Squeeze the juice of two limes over the ingredients.
- Drizzle with olive oil and add salt, pepper, cumin, and a pinch of sugar if you like.
- Stir everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Let It Marinate:
- For the best flavor, let the salsa sit for at least 30 minutes. This allows all the flavors to meld together nicely.
- Serve:
- Serve with your favorite tortilla chips, tacos, or pretty much anything! It’s super versatile.
