289.8 kB - 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Burger Patties:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Cook the Burger Patties:
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and nicely browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Gravy:
- In the same skillet, add a tablespoon of butter (if using) and melt it over medium heat.
- Sprinkle the flour into the skillet and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Cook the gravy until it thickens, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve:
- Once the gravy is ready, return the burger patties to the skillet, coating them with the gravy.
- Let them simmer in the gravy for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the burger steaks hot, topped with the gravy. They go well with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
