Can I use cornstarch to thicken banana pudding?

Hey food wizards! Quick query from your friendly neighborhood cook: Can cornstarch serve as a thickener for banana pudding? I've been tweaking grandma's classic recipe, aiming for that perfect consistency without altering the flavor too much. Realized midway that my pantry's short on the usual thickener. Got a decent stash of cornstarch, though.
 
Hey!! Of course you can, but I think there's a consequence. Although cornstarch can thicken banana pudding, it can alter its texture ;) My suggestion is you can use tapioca starch or arrowfoot powder :cool:
