  • 4 cups fresh cranberries

  • 1 orange, zested and juiced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 (2-inch) piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 whole cloves
  • ½ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • ¾ cup maple syrup

Directions​

  1. Combine ingredients: In a large saucepan, mix together the cranberries, water, orange zest and juice, cinnamon sticks, grated ginger, vanilla extract, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until many of the cranberries pop and the sauce starts to thicken, about 20 minutes.
  3. Add blueberries: Stir in the blueberries and maple syrup. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture returns to a simmer and reaches the desired consistency, about 20 more minutes.
  4. Cool: Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool completely. Remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves before serving or storing.
