I recently tried making Cuban bread, and it turned out wonderfully! šŸŒŸ The crust was perfectly crisp, and the inside was delightfully softā€”just like youā€™d get from a bakery. Hereā€™s how you can recreate it at home:
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 Ā½ cups warm water (110Ā°F)
  • 2 tablespoons lard or unsalted butter (room temperature)
Instructions:
  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Make a well in the center and pour in the warm water. Stir until combined.
  2. Add the lard or butter, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes, or until itā€™s smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough, then shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet, cover, and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375Ā°F (190Ā°C). Bake the loaf for about 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
The result is a deliciously airy loaf of Cuban bread thatā€™s perfect for sandwiches or just enjoying with a bit of butter. Enjoy your baking! šŸžšŸ„Ŗ
