I recently tried making Cuban bread, and it turned out wonderfully!

Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 Ā½ cups warm water (110Ā°F)
- 2 tablespoons lard or unsalted butter (room temperature)
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Make a well in the center and pour in the warm water. Stir until combined.
- Add the lard or butter, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes, or until itās smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, then shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet, cover, and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375Ā°F (190Ā°C). Bake the loaf for about 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
