Ingredients for Calamari:
- 1 lb calamari rings
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Prep the Calamari: Pat the calamari rings dry with paper towels. In one bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a second bowl, place the beaten eggs. In a third bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat the Calamari: Dredge each calamari ring in the flour mixture, dip it in the egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the calamari rings with cooking spray and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Make the Sauce: While the calamari cooks, mix the mayo, lemon juice, minced garlic, hot sauce (if using), salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Serve: Serve the crispy calamari with the dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
