Hey folks! So, I've been playing around with tofu lately, and I think I've come up with something pretty amazing - spicy tofu burgers! They're flavorful, satisfying, and meatless, making them perfect for anyone looking to switch things up in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 block (14 ounces) extra firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste for desired spice level)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, pickles, onions, mayo, etc.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix well to combine.
- Cut the pressed tofu block into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Dip each tofu patty into the marinade mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Place the breadcrumbs on a plate, then coat each tofu patty with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the tofu patties on the preheated grill or grill pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned and heated through.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute or two, if desired.
- Assemble your spicy tofu burgers by placing each tofu patty on a burger bun and adding your favorite toppings.
- Serve hot and enjoy the spicy, flavorful goodness!
