A cake for this week! try?

Ingredients:

Ingredients:
- 3 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan or springform pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the melted butter and granulated sugar together until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in about two-thirds of the sliced apples into the batter, reserving the rest for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly. Arrange the remaining apple slices on top of the batter in a decorative pattern.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
- Slice and enjoy your delicious French apple cake with a cup of tea or coffee!
