Oh so sweet!

Ingredients:
For the Fruit Salad:
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 cup grapes, halved if large
- 1 large apple, cored and chopped
- 1 large orange, peeled and segmented
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped mango (optional)
For the Dressing (Optional):
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lime zest (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Fruit:
- Wash and prepare all the fruit as indicated. Make sure to cut them into bite-sized pieces for easy eating.
- Combine all the fruit in a large mixing bowl.
- Make the Dressing (Optional):
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey (or maple syrup), lemon juice, lime zest, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine and Toss:
- If using the dressing, pour it over the fruit and gently toss everything together to coat the fruit evenly.
- If you prefer your fruit salad without dressing, simply toss the fruit together and serve.
- Chill (Optional):
- For the best flavor, let the fruit salad chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together.
- Serve:
- Serve the fruit salad in individual bowls or on a large platter. Garnish with a sprig of mint if desired.
Tips:
- Fruit Selection: Feel free to substitute or add other fruits based on what's in season or your personal preference. Some great additions include peaches, nectarines, pomegranate seeds, or raspberries.
- Make Ahead: Fruit salad can be made a day in advance, but it’s best to add fruits like bananas and apples just before serving to prevent browning.
- Storage: Store any leftover fruit salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
