Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces of linguine pasta
  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup of dry white wine (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions:
  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta is cooking, season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and white wine (if using), scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Combine the Pasta and Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Add the cooked linguine pasta to the skillet along with the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Toss everything together until well combined, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  6. Serve: Divide the garlic butter shrimp pasta among serving plates. Garnish with additional chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful creation!
