Ingredients:

  • 3 cups cooked short-grain rice, seasoned with a bit of sesame oil and salt
  • 4 sheets of dried seaweed (gim)
  • 150g thinly sliced beef
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 4 pickled radish strips (danmuji)
  • 4 eggs, beaten and cooked into thin omelets
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame oil
Instructions:

  1. Season the sliced beef with salt, pepper, and a splash of sesame oil. Stir-fry in a pan until cooked through. Set aside.
  2. Lay a sheet of dried seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface.
  3. Spread a thin layer of seasoned rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a small border along one edge.
  4. Arrange the cooked beef, carrot, cucumber, pickled radish, and egg omelet strips in a line across the center of the rice.
  5. Using the bamboo mat, roll the seaweed and rice tightly around the filling, pressing gently to seal the edges.
  6. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make three more rolls.
  7. Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife.
  8. Serve the Gimbap Kimbap with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
