Ingredients:
- 6 bratwurst sausages
- 2 bottles (12 ounces each) beer (such as lager or ale)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 6 bratwurst buns
- Mustard, ketchup, sauerkraut, chopped onions, or other toppings of your choice
- In a large bowl or resealable plastic bag, combine the beer, sliced onion, minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, dried thyme, ground mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Add the bratwurst sausages to the marinade, making sure they are fully submerged. Cover the bowl or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the bratwurst sausages from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the sausages on the preheated grill and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the brats are cooking, toast the bratwurst buns on the grill until lightly golden.
- Once the bratwurst sausages are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the grilled beer brats hot in toasted buns, topped with mustard, ketchup, sauerkraut, chopped onions, or your favorite toppings.
- Enjoy the juicy and flavorful Grilled Beer Brats with your favorite sides and a cold beer!
