Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my go-to recipe for a simple yet incredibly delicious homemade Alfredo sauce. It's so much creamier and flavorful than anything from a jar!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Romano cheese (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  2. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in Parmesan and Romano cheese (if using) until melted and smooth.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-grated.
  • If the sauce seems too thick, thin it out with a tablespoon or two of pasta water.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of nutmeg or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
Let me know if you try this recipe and what you think! Happy cooking! 😊

The tip about using freshly grated Parmesan really made a difference in the flavor. I added a pinch of nutmeg as you suggested, and it gave the sauce a nice depth. Definitely going to be my go-to recipe from now on. Thanks again! 😊
