Haryana’s cuisine is known for its rustic and hearty flavors, and Besan Masala Roti is one such traditional dish. Made with gram flour (besan) and spices, this roti is not only delicious but also packed with nutrition. It pairs perfectly with curd, pickle, or homemade butter. Let’s make it!
For the Dough:

Prepare the Dough – In a mixing bowl, combine wheat flour, besan, salt, and all the spices. Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes.
Roll the Rotis – Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a round shape, just like a regular chapati. Sprinkle some dry flour if needed to prevent sticking
Cook on Tawa – Heat a tawa (griddle) and place the roti on it. Cook on medium flame, flipping occasionally. Apply ghee or butter on both sides and cook until golden brown and crispy
Serve & Enjoy! – Serve hot with fresh yogurt, pickle, or white butter for an authentic Haryanvi experience!
