Is eggnog served warm or cold?

Hey all! I've been pondering over how eggnog is traditionally served 😊. It seems like there's a split camp on this: some swear by enjoying it cold, straight from the fridge 🥶, while others love it warmed, finding comfort in its heat on a chilly day 🥵. Both methods have their charm, reflecting eggnog's versatility as a holiday drink. Cold brings out its refreshing, creamy texture, perfect for a festive toast. Warm, it turns into a cozy, comforting beverage, reminiscent of winter's joy 🤗. Curious to know, how do you prefer your eggnog? Does your family have a traditional way of serving it that sways your preference? Let's share and maybe try a new way this season! 🥳💗✨

I've always loved my eggnog warm, especially when the weather becomes cold. It's so comforting to hold a mug of hot eggnog and feel its creamy richness from inside out💕

Eggnog should alwyas be served hot!!! Cold eggnog is blasphemy on so many levels. No thanks yuck. It goes down the toilet if it is cold!

What's your recipe for a good eggnog? Care to share so I can prepare 8 months in advance? hehehehe

Sure! Here’s my recipe for my Holiday Eggnog. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

For the Ingredients:

12 egg whites
12 egg yolks
1 cup sugar (divided)
½ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 quart heavy cream, beaten stiff
1 quart milk
1 quart Bourbon whiskey (or any of your preference)
1 cup rum
Nutmeg for garnish

Methods:

1. Beat 12 egg whites until stiff peaks form.
2. Gradually beat in ½ cup of sugar until fully incorporated.
3. In a separate bowl, beat 12 egg yolks, 1 cup of sugar, and ¼ teaspoon of salt until very light and fluffy.
4. Combine the egg mixtures and stir until thoroughly blended.
5. Add the beaten stiff heavy cream, milk, and Bourbon whiskey to the egg mixture.
6. Beat well.
7. Stir in 1 cup of rum.
8. Pour the mixture into a gallon jug, reserving any extra in a quart jar.
