Is there such a thing as marinating tri-tip for too long? What do you think?

Planning to marinate my tri-tip overnight and wondering if that's too much. Has anyone experienced problems with marinating it too long, or have tips on the ideal time?

Overnight marinade is usually best for tri-tip But be careful with acid marinades, such as vinegar or citrus juice because it can make the meat mushy. I believe the optimal range is when the food seasoning is between 12 to 24 hours to allow adequate marinating without over-seasoning it.
