Healthy Chips that you can enjoy
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe jackfruit
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Jackfruit:
- Select a ripe jackfruit. The jackfruit should be ripe but not overly soft. Cut the jackfruit into halves and remove the seeds and core.
- Slice the Jackfruit:
- Slice the jackfruit into thin, uniform slices. You can use a knife or a mandoline slicer for this. Remove any excess fibers from the slices.
- Remove Excess Moisture:
- Lay the jackfruit slices on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to remove excess moisture. Pat them dry gently.
- Fry the Jackfruit:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or fryer to about 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the jackfruit slices to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy, which usually takes about 3-5 minutes per batch.
- Drain and Season:
- Once the jackfruit chips are golden brown and crispy, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Optionally, sprinkle the hot chips with a pinch of salt for added flavor. You can also season them with other spices like chili powder or garlic powder if desired.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the jackfruit chips to cool completely before serving.
- Once cooled, store them in an airtight container to maintain their crispiness.
