Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old rice)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a spoon or spatula.
  4. Drizzle the soy sauce over the rice and sprinkle the curry powder evenly. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the rice is heated through and well-coated with the seasonings, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Taste the rice and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Once done, transfer the Java Rice to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro if desired.
  8. Serve hot as a delicious side dish to accompany your favorite main course.
