Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old rice)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a spoon or spatula.
- Drizzle the soy sauce over the rice and sprinkle the curry powder evenly. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the rice is heated through and well-coated with the seasonings, about 5-7 minutes.
- Taste the rice and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Once done, transfer the Java Rice to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro if desired.
- Serve hot as a delicious side dish to accompany your favorite main course.
