Embark on a culinary journey to Thailand with our flavorful Kuay Teow Reua recipe! Also known as Thai Boat Noodles, this dish features tender rice noodles in a rich, aromatic broth flavored with herbs, spices, and your choice of meat (usually pork or beef). 👩‍🍳 Ingredients:

  • 200g rice noodles (preferably thin or medium-sized)
  • 300g pork or beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground white pepper
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup Thai basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup bean sprouts
  • Chopped green onions and cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges and chili flakes, for serving
📝 Instructions:

  1. Cook rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a pot, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sliced shallots. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add thinly sliced pork or beef to the pot and cook until browned.
  4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and ground white pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Add cooked rice noodles to the broth and stir to combine. Let simmer for a few minutes to allow flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with Thai basil leaves, bean sprouts, chopped green onions, and cilantro. Squeeze lime juice over the noodles and sprinkle with chili flakes for an extra kick.
