Ingredients:
Instructions:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon culinary lavender buds
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: additional culinary lavender buds for decoration
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Crush the culinary lavender buds slightly using a mortar and pestle or your fingers to release their aroma, then add them to the butter mixture along with the lemon zest. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes or simply slice the dough into squares or rectangles.
- Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
- If desired, lightly press additional culinary lavender buds onto the tops of the cookies for decoration.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are just beginning to turn golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
