Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken or pork liver
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup cream or milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

  1. Rinse the liver under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant.
  3. Add the liver to the skillet and cook until it is no longer pink in the center, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Transfer the cooked liver, onion, and garlic to a food processor or blender. Add the cream or milk, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the processor or blender as needed.
  7. If the liver spread is too thick, you can add more cream or milk to reach your desired consistency.
  8. Transfer the liver spread to a container and refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  9. Serve the liver spread on bread or crackers, or use it as a filling for sandwiches or appetizers. Enjoy your homemade Liver Spread! 🍞🥪
