- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, oats, milk, beaten egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix until well combined.
- Shape Meatloaf: Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot, with your favorite sides.
