Hey everyone! Today, I'm excited to share my go-to recipe for homemade milk bread that's soft, fluffy, and absolutely irresistible. Whether you're a seasoned baker or new to bread making, this recipe is sure to become a favorite in your kitchen!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Once the yeast is activated, add the flour and salt to the bowl. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Pour in the melted butter and beaten egg, and knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes. You can do this by hand or using a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover the loaf pan with the kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the dough rise for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until it fills the pan.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the dough has risen, bake the milk bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
