  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)
Instructions:
  1. Melt the Butter:
    • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Make the Roux:
    • Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk continuously for about 1 minute, until it forms a smooth paste.
  3. Add the Milk:
    • Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook and whisk until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the Cheese:
