Nashville hot chicken is a spicy, crispy fried chicken that's become a popular dish across the United States. These sliders are a perfect way to enjoy this flavorful treat in a bite-sized format.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Slider buns
  • Nashville hot sauce
  • Pickles
  • Coleslaw

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  2. Prepare the breading: In a shallow dish, combine the flour and cornstarch.
  3. Bread the chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off any excess. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, then return it to the marinade for a few minutes.
  4. Fry the chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and gently place it in the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Assemble the sliders: Place a slider bun on a plate. Top with a piece of fried chicken, a spoonful of Nashville hot sauce, pickles, and coleslaw. Repeat with the remaining buns.
