- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- Combine Wet Ingredients:
- In another bowl, mix the orange juice, vegetable oil, orange zest, and egg until well blended.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool:
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
