Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops (boneless or bone-in)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms (such as cremini or button mushrooms)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour for thickening the sauce
Instructions:

  1. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and garlic. Cook until the mushrooms are browned and tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. If using flour, sprinkle it over the mushrooms and stir to combine, cooking for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, stirring to deglaze the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the mushroom sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
  9. Serve the Pork Marsala with Mushroom hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!
