Gather these ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage shredded
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 24 Frozen Bread Dough Dinner Rolls
  • salt and pepper
  • melted butter

Follow these steps:

  • Place frozen dinner roll dough on a sheet pan and let it rise as per the instructions on the package. Use 2 rolls for each sandwich.
  • While the dough is rising, start cooking ground beef and onion in a large skillet until the meat is halfway cooked. Add shredded cabbage, cover with a lid, and continue cooking until both the meat and cabbage are fully cooked. Drain any excess grease or liquid and set aside.
  • Once the rolls have risen completely, lightly flour your work surface. Take two rolls and shape them into balls. Roll each ball into a rectangle approximately 5 inches by 7 inches.
  • Place about 1/3 cup of the filling in the center of each dough rectangle, spreading it evenly from top to bottom.
  • Fold the bottom and top edges of the dough over the filling and press to seal. Fold the left side over, pinching to seal, and then do the same with the right side, gently stretching it to cover the left side. Pinch to close securely.
  • Arrange each sandwich seam side down on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Let the sandwiches rise again for another 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Brush the tops of the sandwiches with melted butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the bread dough is golden brown.
Serve!

This recipe looks amazing! I love how it uses frozen dinner rolls - saves so much time. Is shredded cabbage the only veggie you use, or have you experimented with others? I was thinking maybe some chopped mushrooms or carrots for extra flavor and texture. 🙂👌😉✨
