  • Sugar
  • Sesame oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the salmon belly: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and a dash of sesame oil to create a marinade. Marinate the salmon belly slices in this mixture for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated salmon belly slices to the pan, skin side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked through.
  3. While the salmon is cooking, prepare the rice bowls. Place a serving of cooked sushi rice or steamed white rice in each bowl.
  4. Once the salmon is cooked, place it on top of the rice in each bowl.
  5. Drizzle some of the remaining marinade over the salmon and rice.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve the salmon belly rice bowls hot, and optionally, add toppings like avocado slices, sliced cucumber, shredded nori seaweed, or pickled ginger for extra flavor and texture.
