- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Additional grated Parmesan and rosemary for topping
- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in the olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped rosemary, salt, and garlic powder.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Before baking, sprinkle the top of the loaf with additional grated Parmesan cheese and chopped rosemary.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
