Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir the mixture until a dough starts to form. Then, knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles. Divide the dough into desired portions and shape them into balls.
  6. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go (usually around 500°F/260°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
  7. Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface into your desired pizza shape and thickness.
  8. Add your favorite toppings, sauce, and cheese to the pizza dough.
  9. Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute or two, slice, and enjoy your homemade pizza!
Feel free to customize the toppings and experiment with different flavors to suit your taste preferences!
