Should I add baking soda to black-eyed peas? 🤔🤔

Hey everyone! Has anyone experimented on putting baking soda to the black eyed peas? I've heard some used to do that to easily make those peas soften, but I do wonder if it affects the taste? You know, baking soda has bitter taste. Does it affect the peas after all? I'm curious if anyone has any insights or experiences to share.

Yeah, I've tried it before. Baking soda can help soften black-eyed peas quicker, but if you use too much, it might give a slightly off taste. I'd recommend starting with a small amount and adjusting based on your taste preferences.
