- 1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Season with black pepper and salt, to taste. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.
- Transfer the sizzling pepper steak to a serving platter or individual plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
- Serve the sizzling pepper steak immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
