Ingredients:
  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sugar. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak slices and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Season with black pepper and salt, to taste. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  5. Transfer the sizzling pepper steak to a serving platter or individual plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
  6. Serve the sizzling pepper steak immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
