Classic Sliders Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (I prefer 80/20 for a good fat balance)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 mini slider buns (Hawaiian rolls work great)
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
- Pickles, sliced (optional)
- Ketchup and mustard (for serving)
- Butter for toasting buns
Instructions:
- Prep the Beef: In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the chopped onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to overwork the meat to keep the sliders tender.
- Shape the Patties: Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small patties, slightly larger than the slider buns as they'll shrink while cooking.
- Cook the Patties: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, butter the slider buns and toast them on the skillet or grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the Sliders: Place each patty on a bun bottom, top with pickles if using, then add ketchup and mustard. Finish with the bun top.
- Serve: Serve the sliders warm and watch them disappear!
