Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hamburger buns, for serving
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix well to combine.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the Sloppy Joe mixture on hamburger buns.
