Ingredients:
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns, for serving
Instructions:
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix well to combine.
  4. Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the Sloppy Joe mixture on hamburger buns.
