  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Instructions:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter and lukewarm water.
  2. Gradually add the bread flour and salt to the bowl, stirring until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10-15 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Cover the loaf with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise again for 1-2 hours.
  7. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Just before baking, slash the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  8. Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your homemade sourdough bread!
