Hey everyone! If you're like me and hate wasting your sourdough discard, you'll love this simple and delicious recipe for sourdough discard crackers. They’re super easy to make and perfect for snacking. Here's how to whip them up:
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, or your favorite)
- Sea salt for sprinkling
- Mix the Dough: In a bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, olive oil, salt, and dried herbs. Mix until it forms a smooth dough.
- Roll It Out: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). On a floured surface, roll out the dough as thin as possible. The thinner the dough, the crispier the crackers will be!
- Cut into Shapes: Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into squares or any shape you like. Place the pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle Sea Salt: Lightly brush the tops with a bit more olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake to Perfection: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!
- Cool and Enjoy: Let the crackers cool completely on a wire rack before enjoying. They’ll get even crispier as they cool.
