Ingredients:
- For the Potato Mixture:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- For the Stuffing:
- 1/2 cup cooked ground meat (beef, sausage, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- For Coating:
- 1 cup flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions:
- Prepare the Potatoes:
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
- Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth. Stir in cheese.
- Prepare the Stuffing:
- In a skillet, cook ground meat with onions and bell peppers until browned. Stir in soy sauce. Allow to cool slightly.
- Form the Potato Balls:
- Take a small portion of the mashed potatoes and flatten it in your hand. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center and mold the potato around it to form a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture.
- Coat and Fry:
- Dredge each ball in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry potato balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
