  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)

    Instructions:
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, 1/4 cup water, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.
  4. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  5. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  6. While the chicken is cooking, prepare the remaining teriyaki sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water. Gradually whisk in the reserved teriyaki sauce until smooth.
  7. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill pan or skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
  9. Slice the chicken breasts and drizzle with the thickened teriyaki sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.
  10. Serve the Teriyaki Boneless Chicken hot with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables.
