- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 1-2 Ternate flowers (also known as butterfly pea flower)
- Salt (optional)
- Rinse the Ternate flowers under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
- In a pot, add the rice and water.
- Add the rinsed Ternate flowers to the pot with the rice and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
- Let the rice simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and remove the Ternate flowers.
- Season with salt if desired.
- Serve the blue-colored rice as a visually striking and flavorful dish. Enjoy!
