The Ultimate Beef Tongue Recipe

Hey y'all, check out this amazing beef tongue recipe I just tried! It's got this killer blend of flavors that'll have you coming back for more every time. Let me know if you give it a shot!

Ingredients:
1 x 3-4 lb whole beef tongue​
8 garlic cloves​
1/2 onion​
1 small orange​
2 tablespoons kosher salt​
3 tablespoons seasoning

Preparation:

1. Boil water in a large pot.
2. Crush garlic cloves with a knife's side for flavor.
3. Add crushed garlic, salt, half an onion, and orange peel with its juice to the water.
4. Gradually place beef tongue in boiling water, cover, and simmer for 4-5 hours until easily pierced with a knife.
5. Remove and let cool for 10-15 minutes.
6. Peel off the skin, if needed, and discard. Slice tongue into 1/4" pieces, removing the darker "under tongue" section.
7. Season both sides with Meatchelada seasoning.
8. Preheat grill to 500°F or use a skillet. Grill tongue, flipping occasionally, until a seared crust forms.
9. Remove from grill when desired color is achieved.​
10. For storage, bake as directed without gravy, cool, and freeze in a ziplock bag.
11. Defrost overnight and add sauce before baking for 1 hour.
12. Alternatively, bake from frozen for 1 hour, then add sauce and bake for another hour.​
